PICK & PLACE APPLICATIONS WITH FORCE-TORQUE SENSORS
The integration of a force-torque sensor in combination with a modern camera system enables pick and place in the case of large tolerance zones between component part and packaging unit. In such situations, we use our F6Di force-torque sensors with digital signal transmission, enabling an exact force-guided position adjustment of the robot movements after measuring and capturing the component parts with the camera system – just how humans would do it.
In addition, issues or component part deviations can be detected early in simple applications. A corresponding correction protects against damage and minimizes system downtimes.

APPLICATION: BIN PICKING
Presentation of the problem:
During automated bin picking, a robot continuously and reliably takes randomly placed work pieces and component parts out of bins. This requires sensitive, intelligent systems such as sensors and image processing modules for position recognition.
The force-torque sensor F6Di monitors the gripping process and gives feedback to the control if the predefined threshold values are exceeded. In addition, if component parts and work pieces are wedged in or jammed in, the robot movement can be guided by the sensor using force control.
